Practical info

Here you will find practical information prior to your visiting us.

Height requirements

Our trails are graded with colors like in a ski resort. Orange is the simplest and black is the hardest. In between you will find light green, dark green, blue and red. The height requirements for the different colors of the trails are:

Orange: Taller than 80 cm.
Green/dark green: Taller than 110 cm.
Red/blue: Taller than 140 cm.
Black: Taller than 160 cm.

Weight limit: 120 kg

NB! Children under the age of 6 must be followed in the course of a responsible adult in green trails.
Children under the age of 12 must be followed by an adult; in blue, red and black trails.

Wavier form

Everyone who wants to climb the park must complete and submit their own declaration. It is recommended that this is done online before arriving – then you save time. We have backup for those who need to do so on arrival. The self-declaration is valid for the entire season – if you have delivered online. During group visits, a responsible person can fill in for the whole group.

Security & training

All activities at Høyt & Lavt are quality assured through our routines and internal control. The climbing equipment is checked annually and approved by the National Rail Authority. Safety is the first priority in our business and we are constantly working on development and improvement. We really appreciate your feedback if there should be anything to report about your experience visiting us!

Everyone who uses the climbing park must complete a mandatory safety course with an instructor. The course must be completed at least once per season. Unfortunately, on days of high demand, some waiting time must be expected in the safety training. Follow the instructor’s messages carefully to reduce the waiting time.

Weather & clothing

We recommend exercise clothing or lightweight hiking gear as the best clothing when climbing. You get hot quickly from all the activity, so dress up with the opportunity for relief in the outfit. It may be beneficial to carry a bag of extra clothing. Running shoes or hiking boots with good soles are preferable. There is no problem climbing while it is raining – carry some light rainwear in your bag. Be aware that it is stony in the trees. Clothes with cords (hoodies, etc.) are not recommended.

The park is open in any weather in the season. In the event of a thunderstorm and / or heavy wind, parts of the park may need to be closed until the weather is easier. Unforeseen downtime does not entail the right to reimbursement of ticket money.

Food & drinks

You are allowed to bring your own food and drink.

Parking

We have our own free parking for Høyt & Lavt Valsøya. It is located in close proximity to the park. Follow the signs for parking when you reach Valsøya.
