Security & training

All activities at Høyt & Lavt are quality assured through our routines and internal control. The climbing equipment is checked annually and approved by the National Rail Authority. Safety is the first priority in our business and we are constantly working on development and improvement. We really appreciate your feedback if there should be anything to report about your experience visiting us!

Everyone who uses the climbing park must complete a mandatory safety course with an instructor. The course must be completed at least once per season. Unfortunately, on days of high demand, some waiting time must be expected in the safety training. Follow the instructor’s messages carefully to reduce the waiting time.

Weather & clothing

We recommend exercise clothing or lightweight hiking gear as the best clothing when climbing. You get hot quickly from all the activity, so dress up with the opportunity for relief in the outfit. It may be beneficial to carry a bag of extra clothing. Running shoes or hiking boots with good soles are preferable. There is no problem climbing while it is raining – carry some light rainwear in your bag. Be aware that it is stony in the trees. Clothes with cords (hoodies, etc.) are not recommended.

The park is open in any weather in the season. In the event of a thunderstorm and / or heavy wind, parts of the park may need to be closed until the weather is easier. Unforeseen downtime does not entail the right to reimbursement of ticket money.

Food & drinks

You are allowed to bring your own food and drink, but we also have the kiosk where you can buy some simple meals and traditional, freshly baked waffle. Delicious!

Parking

We have our own free parking for Høyt & Lavt Valsøya. It is located in close proximity to the park. Follow the signs for the climbing park when you reach Valsøya.
