Height Requirements

Some of our courses have height requirements and we follow the same color coding as most ski resorts. The easiest courses are marked with orange, while the most challenging ones are black. In between you’ll find light green, dark green, blue and red.

The height requirements for the different courses are as follows:

Orange: above 80 cm. Green: above 110 cm. Red/Blue: above 140 cm. Black: above 160 cm

Children under the age of 6 must be accompanied by a supervising adult in green courses.

Children under the age of 10 must be accompanied by a supervising adult in blue and red courses. We recommend at least 1 adult per 4 kids. Kids without company from adult will not be permitet access to the “high” courses

Important information

Access to the climbing park is prohibited for individuals who:

  • Weigh more than 120 kg
  • Are pregnant
  • Are under the influence of alcohol or other substances

Everyone who wishes to climb in the climbing park must go through safety training and abide by the climbing park’s rules.

Safety & Training

Safety is one of our main concerns at Høyt & Lavt Climbing Park. The park is annually inspected by the Norwegian Railway Authority. We also frequently perform internal controls of the operation, and have several internal routines in place, so that you can feel safe at the park.

If you are going to partake in any activities or use our climbing courses, you must go through our mandatory safety course. You may experience some waiting time on busy days. Please listen to your instructor to make the wait as short as possible for yourself and others.

Please note that the mandatory course must be completed at least once per season

Weather & Clothes

We recommend that you wear sports/fitness clothing or light hiking gear when you are going climbing in our park. As you will be staying active you might want to wear several layers, so you can take some off as your temperature rises. We recommend you bring a small backpack with a light change of clothes. Running or hiking shoes with a solid sole are preferred. In case of rain, we recommend you bring some light waterproof clothing with you. Please note that there can be resin in the trees. We do not recommend you wear clothing with any strings or cords on to our climbing course.

Food & Beverage

Our café, Klatrekafeen, is open during the park’s regular opening hours. You can choose between hot and cold meals to a reasonable price. In addition you can buy ice cream, beverages and a selection of light snacks. If you bring food yourself, you can enjoy it outside at our tables or in the café. Due to fire hazards it’s not allowed to make fires or use barbecues during opening hours.
