Practical Info For Groups

Here you can find useful information for that your group should know before your arrival.

Your arrival

One of our instructors will welcome you when you arrive. Before you start climbing we’ll check that your waiver form is completed, hand out climbing equipment and give you a climbing park safety course.

Safety & Training

Activities in the climbing park are not permitted for:

  • persons under the influence of drugs or alcohol
  • pregnant women
  • persons heavier than 120kg

Activities in the climbing park are not recommended for:

  • persons with back- or neck injuries
  • Persons with heart or lung problems or other physical challenges.

Safety is one of our main concerns at Høyt & Lavt Climbing Park. The park is annually inspected by the Norwegian Railway Authority. We also frequently perform internal controls of the operation, and have several internal routines in place, so that you can feel safe at the park.

If you are going to partake in any activities or use our climbing courses, you must go through our mandatory safety course. You may experience some waiting time on busy days. Please listen to your instructor to make the wait as short as possible for yourself and others.

Please note that the mandatory course must be completed at least once per season

Height Requirements

Some of our courses have height requirements and we follow the same color coding as most ski resorts. The easiest courses are marked with orange, while the most challenging ones are black. In between you’ll find light green, dark green, blue and red.

The height requirements for the different courses are as follows:

Orange: above 80 cm. Green/dark green: above 110 cm. Red/Blue: above 140 cm.

Children under the age of 6 must be accompanied by a supervising adult in green courses. Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by a supervising adult in blue and red courses. We recommend at least 1 adult per 4 kids. Kids without company from adult will not be permitet access to the “high” courses

Food & Beverage

Our café, Stallen, is open during the park’s regular opening hours. You can choose between hot and cold meals to a reasonable price. In addition you can buy ice cream, beverages and a selection of light snacks. If you bring food yourself, you can enjoy it outside at our tables. Due to fire hazards it’s not allowed to make fires or use barbecues during opening hours.

For groups it’s possible to order food from our event menu. Please contact bergen@hoytlavt.no
